Excuse me for the awful title, I really could not think of a better one!
Warren Buffett is currently in India, scouting out some companies for possible investments. It would not be surprising if Buffett made a big foreign investment. He owns a stake in South Korean steel company, Posco. Buffett plans on visiting the country as part of his visit. Additionally, Buffett has a lot of cash that he needs to put to work. He is very limited in America as there are probably only a few dozen companies that could fit his investment criteria; large, strong moat, pricing power, high returns on equity, and good management. Buffett is increasingly expanding his circle of competence, and he seems very comfortable investing outside the US. Do not be surprised to hear of a large acquisition in Asia in the near future.
