Jack Dorsey, co-founder of the popular social media service Twitter and currently executive chairman of the social network and CEO of the mobile payments startup Square, reportedly says he wants to be mayor of New York one day.

In an interview that aired last night during  60 Minutes on CBS, Dorsey expressed his interest in standing up as the city mayor of New York City. He, however, did not say when he hoped to run as a mayor as he currently lives in San Francisco, Calif.

Dorsey tells CBS’ Lara Logan that what he loves about New York is the electricity he feels when he’s in the city. He also expressed his intention to move to the city some day and gain access to the mayor’s seat.

“Dorsey may spend most of his life in the virtual world, but he’s still fascinated by real world systems and Manhattan, with its subways, is the biggest system on earth. It may seem like an unrealistic ambition for such a reserved person, but Dorsey not only wants to move here someday, he wants to run for mayor.”  writes CBSNews on their website

“What I love about New York is just the electricity I feel right away. I mean just look at us in this station. There’s just people walking everywhere and everyone,” Dorsey said.

Being one of the wealthiest Americans to this date, Dorser ranked 392nd in a list of the 400 wealthiest Americans — a list that requires $1.2 billion in net worth in order to make it.

Michael Bloomberg, current NYC mayor, ranks 10th with a net worth of $25 billion.
