Tesla has accomplished a lot over the last couple of years, and now, the automaker has another major milestone to report. Last month, Tesla’s Supercharger network delivered over 1 GWh of power to Model S sedans in one month. That’s a significant milestone because it means that there are enough Model S cars on the road to use up all of that energy.

And that’s not the only milestone Tesla’s Supercharger network is enjoying right now. Apparently the automaker has also brought online its 100th Supercharger station in the U.S.

Tesla’s network the biggest fast-charging network

In a blog on its website, Tesla Motors said all of that energy delivered through its Supercharger network last month amounts to “3.7 million miles driven, 168,000 gallons of gas saved, and 4.2 million pounds of carbon dioxide offset.” The automaker added that it’s like “driving to the moon and back seven and a half times, and nixing a day’s worth of CO2 from 73,684 Americans.”

The automaker also reported that the Supercharger network is the world’s biggest fast-charging network and also the fastest-growing charging network on the planet.

Tesla plans more Supercharger stations in the U.S.

According to Tesla, Model S drivers are able to charge their cars up halfway in only 20 minutes at a Supercharger for free. The company has set routes stretching across the country from Los Angeles to New York, making it possible to cross the U.S. in a Model S. Tesla has also installed Superchargers up and down the West and East costs and is working on expanding its network in Asia and Europe.

Just last week, Tesla Motors said it opened eight new Superchargers in Europe, which brings the total number of stations there to 32. In June, the automaker opened the first Superchargers in China and is planning more.

Also this week, Tesla Motors also apparently opened up its 100th Supercharger station in the U.S. That’s according to a report from Inside EVs. The website states that the 100th Supercharger, which is located in Tifton, Ga., is now up and running. It also notes that since it’s only been about two years since Tesla started setting up Supercharger stations, so this is quite a significant milestone.

It’s only been about three months since Tesla opened its 100th global Supercharger in New Jersey. Including the 100 Supercharges that are operational in the U.S., Tesla Motors now has a total of 137 operational Superchargers around the world, according to Inside EVs.
