The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to have notable improvements on the Galaxy S3. Going by recent reports, the Galaxy S4 will supposedly use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 quad core processor. Although Samsung has not given an official statement on the leaks, Qualcomm said this processor is designed to offer great battery life. If true, this adds a plus to the device prior to its launch.

Initially, it was believed that Samsung would use its own Exynos Octa 5 processor. This belief was based on the fact that Samsung had flaunted the processor on social media. Also, the Octa 5 was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier in January, suggesting that it would be used in an imminent key device. Although it is still not clear which processor Samsung will settle for, Samsung users are still presented with an all win situation.

The Galaxy S4 is expected to have remarkable improvements on its predecessor. Going by benchmarks, the S4 is expected to have much better graphics performance compared with the S3. Similarly, it is expected to have 40 percent better performance than the U.S. Galaxy S3.

According to industry insiders, the Galaxy S4 launch will take place at a New York press conference slated for March 14th.

As the launch of this highly anticipated device draws closer, one big question looms. Where does Apple stand in all this? As it is, the iPhone maker has lost considerable footing to Samsung. The head-to-head battle for market between it and Samsung has also been disrupted by relentless advances from Blackberry and Nokia.

Renowned Topeka Capital Markets Analyst, Brian White, has convictions that the Galaxy S4 will be a good phone. White has on several occasions demonstrated high spirits for Apple, including two $1111 price targets. He believes Samsung and Apple will have a highly competitive year.
