Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) started taking pre-orders for its Nexus 6 device through its Play Store in the U.S. yesterday. But many shoppers were disappointed when the device ran out of stock in less than two minutes. All storage and color configurations of the phablet were listed out of the inventory. Until now, there is no sign of Google or Motorola making more stock available.

Nexus 6 expected to ship on Nov.21

Some users were lucky enough to add the Nexus 6 to their cart and place an order. The device is expected to ship on November 21, which could be the official release date. Google is yet the confirm the release date, which made some prospective buyers worried about pre-orders. Made by Motorola, Nexus 6 will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

There is no timeline when the Nexus 6 will be available on Play Store again. The device will be available on all major telecom operators, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular, in the near future. Each carrier is expected to announce availability and pricing separately. However, there is some bad news for European consumers.

Nexus 6 delayed in Europe

According to Dutch website TechTastic, Google has pushed the Nexus 6 pre-order date from Nov.3 to Nov.18. That means the pre-orders have been delayed by two weeks. European customers shouldn’t expect to get their hands on the phablet until early December. Meanwhile, a British online retailer confirmed that Motorola officials have informed them that pre-orders in the country won’t begin until Nov.18.

Nexus 6 was announced on Oct.15 along with Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. Priced at $649, the phablet boasts of 5.9-inch Quad HD display with 2560×1440 resolution, 13-megapixel main camera, a dual LED flash, 3220mAh battery with wireless charging, 3GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 2.7GHz clock speed, and Adreno 420 GPU.

Unlike its predecessors, Nexus 6 comes with a premium pricing to compete directly with the flagship phablets such as the iPhone 6 Plus and Galaxy Note 4.
