Zurich.Minds is a community of creative and innovative people in and around Switzerland, personalities from science, technology, enterprise, art and design. It meets once a year for a closed-door conference. The Switzerland edition of The Wall Street Journal, the Swiss national television  and other media have widely reported on Zurich.Minds. Members include empirical philosopher and NYT bestselling author Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Nobel prize winner Kurt Wuthrich, complexity economist Didier Sornette, neuroeconomist Ernst Fehr, one of the most cited researchers, experimental psychologist Roy Baumeister, mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, philosopher Daniel Dennett, neurosurgeon Helmut Bertalanffy, founder of the paleo movement Arthur De Vany, evolutionary psychologists Leda Cosmides and John Tooby, illustrator David Bolinsky and astrophysicist Ben Moore.
Zurich.Minds is organized and financed by the Zurich.Minds Foundation, a non-profit foundation approved by the Federal administration of Switzerland that was set up in 2008 by Rolf Dobelli. The goal of the Zurich.Minds Foundation is to create a bridge between the science, business and cultural communities.

I believe the event took place in December 2011. After personally watching the entire video, there was no indication of the timing (not that it matters).

Below is Nassim Taleb’s lengthy presentation on risk and anti-fragility. As stated 100 times, every ValueWalk reader is required to read his masterpiece and best-seller, The Black Swan.

The video mostly consists of Q&A.

Taleb discusses how he knew the banking system would blow up.

Talks about volatility and who gains from it, such as the traders in the US
