While the iPhone 5S won’t arrive until Friday this week, thanks to some reportage and leaks out of China, those already queuing up in Tokyo should know what to expect. Given the limited upgrade that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has made with the new phone—which will come with iOS 7 and a fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone—the packaging is very similar to the packaging most have come to expect from the Cupertino, CA based Apple when it releases its iconic phone.

If you’ve bought an iPhone before, you’ve seen the packaging before. A rectangular box, slightly longer and wider than the phone itself, with “iPhone 5s” on the side and a head-on product photograph on the box lid. This is once again the extent of Apple’s packaging choice. No matter the color of the phone you’ve ordered, it appears that the phone’s box will be white.

Inside, there is a phone as you would expect. Beyond that you will find: a Lightning-to-USB cable, a Lightning-to-micro USB adapter, a pair of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) EarPods, and the wall charger. In addition to those necessities, the box will also come packed with an instruction manual and warranty registration card.

All in all, there are few surprises in this latest update of the iPhone 5. Whether Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will change its packaging when it decides an iPhone six is warranted is another matter all together.

While people will continue to clamor for a new Apple release, something they’ve not done since Mr. Turtleneck went gently into that good night, Apple continues to excite some with new products for new markets each year.
