Intel, Ericsson To Offer Managed Security To Telecoms

Intel and Ericsson have entered a new collaboration to manage security solutions offered to telecom operators. The security portfolio of the companies will be enhanced with the combined synergies of Ericsson’s managed services expertise and global deliveries capability with Intel’s network security expertise and exhaustive portfolio of consumer and enterprise security solutions.

Intel and Ericsson to enhance security for telecom operators

Intel Security senior vice president and GM Chris Young said, “Telecommunications networks are a critical component of the economic and social infrastructures that we rely upon.” Young added that Intel Security and Ericsson will help over three billion people across the globe that use these systems to be safe and secure.

According to Jean-Claude Geha, vice president and the head of managed services at Ericsson, Intel Security possesses an exceptional, end-to-end consumer and enterprise security product portfolio. Geha said that Ericsson is the top organization in the telecom managed service industry, and has the scale, skills and people required to make Intel’s security solutions available to telecom operators across the world. The vice president said that together, the companies will be able to offer exceptional managed security solutions to the telecom operators.

At present, the partnership will offer intrusion prevention system services, e-mail security and web security solutions.

Enhanced connectivity will offer more value to people, businesses and society. Along with Intel Security, Ericsson is targeting at making it simpler and easier for telecom operators to support their enterprise clients in protecting valuable intellectual property, data, devices and identities.
