BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) has started the Pre-registration of its Passport smartphones for the customers, who want to make sure that they own one when it is launched. The much awaited and highly discussed phone from the company might be launched next month.

BlackBerry sign-up Page for early movers

Those interested can sign up on the pre-registration page and book a Passport for them. The Canadian smartphone maker wants its fans to get the first-hand information about Passport and has decided to rollover a sign up page for the interested ones.

The sign up page describes BlackBerry Passport as a large, square touch screen for a never before viewing experience. The touch-enabled keyboard is shown high on innovation and allows the user to perform various touch functions. Battery life is decent enough to get a full day support to the users, says the page.

BlackBerry Passport would have Amazon Appstore, which can be confirmed through a couple of pictures on the web. The images show the look of Amazon on the device and comparison to the pre-loaded 10.3. Amazon App store is an android app and looks just perfect on Passport. The App store will come pre-installed for the users, which will cut on the doubt in the minds of the users about where to go and find their favourite apps.

High expectations from Passport

Passport has been made specifically for the business professionals, who want a productive phone. With QWERTY, as well as, touch-enabled keypad the users can switch to any mode they want to use on the 4.5-inch square display. Phone will be in direct competition with the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4.

Investors and the company are hopeful that the Passport would help in the turnaround efforts of the beleaguered smartphone maker, but clearly they are not piling up the blind faith. BlackBerry has proved it over and again that it will not ditch its smartphone segment. The company is brimming with confidence that Passport will bring it back to life.

Hopes of the investors and some market watchers are high because of positive media attention over the Passport. The device is getting tremendous reviews all over the media and from those who had a chance to use it.
