There’s no official word as when the power blackout will be restored.

Some are tweeting if Azerbaijan has been attacked by Aliens? While some are completely baffled after seeing the situation.

In 2012, same sort of power outage was reported in Azerbaijan. Power was cut off in most districts of Baku and 35-40 percent of Azerbaijani regions from 7 a.m. (local time) after lightning struck Mingachevir power plant, which supplies electricity to about a third of the country, sparking a fire at a 330 KWt substation.

UPDATE 2: An accident occurred at the Azerbaijan’s Mingachevir Water Electricity Station. The cause of the incident is being investigated, according to local reports.
