Major updates to iOS 7

Most Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans won’t need to be reminded, but iOS 7 is a major update compared to previous versions of the operating system. Virtually every visual aspect of the operating system, including the overall style, the look of the icons and more, has been switched around. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) users will now have to get used to an entirely different look. No longer will the drop shadows, gradients and texturized look dominate Apple’s products. iOS 7 features a sleeker design which focuses on a minimalistic approach with bold colors and simple lines.

According to Apple management, downloading iOS 7 will be just like getting a whole new phone. That may not be the best comment to make in light of the fact that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is rolling out new handsets as well right now.

New features coming to iOS 7

Other aspects of the new iOS 7 include a male voice for Siri, the ability for Siri to search Twitter and Wikipedia. Also the operating system will come with new ringtones and notification sounds. It will also feature a new photo app which will enable better organization of photos. In addition, it comes with iTunes Radio, which Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) calls “the best way to experience new music.” It’s built right into the iPhone music app.
