Allied Nevada is today’s top performing stock

Topping off our midday gainers list is gold and silver producer Allied Nevada Gold Corp. (NYSEMKT:ANV), which shot up a whopping +49.42% to $6.44. According to The Street, the surge is the result of a tender offer from China Gold Stone Mining Development. The Chinese mining company opened a cash tender offer for all common Allied Nevada shares and related stock purchase rights. China Gold Stone will pay $7.50 in cash for each share of the Nevada-based gold producer. The tender offer will expire midnight on January 24th. This comes as a nice bit of news for John Paulson, who owns 1.5 million Allied Nevada shares (0.04% of his portfolio).

Following Allied Nevada Gold Corp is Marketo Inc (NASDAQ:MKTO), the share price of which increased +8.03% to $44.03. Billionaire George Soros is the only billionaire bracked by iBillionaire with a position in MKTO. He owns 60,000 shares (0.02% of his fund).

Dipping -4.76% to $2.78, NovaGold Resources Inc. (NYSEMKT:NG) occupies the second spot. Seth Klarman owns 21.7 million shares of the gold producer (1.44% of his portfolio), and John Paulson has nearly 36 million assets (acquired at an average $7.20).

Last up today is Ocwen Financial Corp (NYSE:OCN), its share price falling to $53.44, a -3.19% decrease. Julian Robertson is one of the billionaires tracked by iBillionaire who owns OCN, with 350,000 shares acquired at an average price of $19.43. Ocwen comprises neary 3% of his portfolio.
