The iPhone 7 concept videos have been doing rounds on the web even before the iPhone 6S went on sale. Apple’s next flagship is about a year away, and nothing has been officially confirmed about the device. But it hasn’t stopped concept designers from imagining what the iPhone 7 would look like. Now ConceptsiPhone has released a new iPhone 7 concept video which borrows edge-to-edge display from arch-rival Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge.

Gone is the protruding main camera

The new concept has a slightly curved display that wraps around the side to offer you an edge-to-edge touchscreen experience. Gone are the protruding camera and the thick white antenna lines. ConceptsiPhone imagines the device with a symmetrical USB Type-C port. The phone boasts of wireless charging, an octa-core processor, and 16-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization.

Reports coming out of China claim that the iPhone 7 will feature a hexa-core A10 processor manufactured by Intel, Samsung, and TSMC. The concept rendering features a 2.5D display. Last week, Apple was awarded a patent for a curved display that is also flexible. A flexible display means Apple may put a second screen behind the first one to create 2.5D or 3D images.

iPhone 7 to be waterproof

Japanese publication Mac Otakara recently reported that Apple has already produced iPhone 7 prototypes that are waterproof and dustproof. The report adds that Apple will switch from aluminum to a new casing material in the next year’s iPhone. The current iPhone 6S and 6S Plus use Series 7000 aluminum alloy, which is sturdier than the material used in last year’s iPhones.

Earlier this month, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the next year’s iPhone will be just 6mm thick. That means it would be slimmer than the iPad Air 2 and the latest iPod touch. At this early stage, it’s anyone’s guess what the final design of iPhone 7 would look like. We can expect to see more concepts in coming months.
