With iOS 9, Siri could get a colorful makeover. Apple typically shows off the newest version of iOS at its annual Worldwide Developers’ Conference (WWDC) in June, and the rumor mill is starting to heat up.
Siri on iOS 9 may look more like Apple Watch version
9to5 Mac said its sources claim that Siri will get a makeover in iOS 9 that brings its look more in line with how it looks on the Apple Watch. The smartwatch’s Siri interface is much more colorful than the one on the iPhone and iPad. The website also reports that iOS 9 will come with a new default wallpaper with a color scheme that’s green and blue.
Other changes that are expected with iOS 9 include security improvements and possibly a new Beats Music app.
What else at WWDC?
Another item that’s been a hot topic within the tech community is the music streaming service Apple has been rumored to be working on. Reports on the service stretch back months, and the service hinges on Apple being able to get deals with the major music licensing firms in place.
9to5 Mac reports that Apple is planning to unveil a music streaming service at WWDC, although it may not quite be ready to go at that point, according to Billboard. Billboard reports that Apple is still hammering out the details on deals for the Beats Music streaming service and that the company will not launch the service in June.
According to 9to5 Mac, however, the service will come out a few weeks after the unveiling at WWDC, which would put the release in late June. The website’s source further said the music service will be part of iOS 8.4 and iTunes 12.2.
They also reported that developers have been experimenting with iOS 8.4 for several weeks and that development on the update is starting to wrap up at Apple. They added that a limited beta release for the press and developers is expected to come out at WWDC.
