Having a wireless router is completely normal these days because we want to connect or share Internet between not just our laptop, but also among our desktop, smartphone and tablet. Also when our relatives visit us, they ask foryour Wi-Fi’s password, and that’s where the problem starts, especially when you have forgotten the password.

Windows and even other devices like smartphones and tablets store the password once it is entered, which means it isn’t necessary to remember it or enter it again in the future. However, sometimes because of this, the Wi-Fi password is forgotten, So what if you have someone like your guest or relative who wants the password and to jump on your network? Some might say that they have written the password in their diary or a Post-It note, but finding it at the moment is not possible. Thankfully there’s an easy way to do a reverse lookup on your Wi-Fi password on a computer on which your password is already stored.

How to find Wi-Fi password in Windows 8.1

Step 1: Ensure that you are connected to the Wi-Fi network. If you’re not, then move your mouse to the upper right corner of the screen and click on Settings. From there, find and connect to your network. Or you can also click on the Wi-Fi icon from the system tray and then connect to your network.

Step 2: Now that you are connected to the network, you will be able to see the Wi-Fi icon in your system tray (next to the date and time). Right click on it and click on “Open Network and Sharing Center.”
