The hotel chain has decided to help guests record their memories with the aid of the miniature video cameras.
The next time you visit a Marriott resort in the Caribbean or Latin America, be sure to check whether you can borrow a GoPro HERO4 camera. The latest GoPro devices are to be loaned to guests at 17 different properties to help them record and share their experiences.
New collaboration
A promotional video posted to YouTube shows guests how they can best use the cameras, which are waterproof and incredibly shock resistant, perfectly suited for extreme sports. The collaboration also has its own website where you can find more specific information.
The collaboration has no fixed end date and Marriott executives presumably see a good way of keeping younger travelers stimulated during their stay. Craig S. Smith, president of the Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott International, claims that “next-generation travelers” are seeking ways to create and share their experiences, and Marriott prioritises innovation at its hotels.
“We live in a digital and social age. Through this program, we’re giving guests a fun way to tell their own travel story using the versatile and memory-making GoPro technology and immediately share their content with friends and family,” Smith said.
Promotional competitions
Marriott is encouraging guests to share their content using the hashtags #GoPro, #travelbrilliantly and #viajegenial. Selected photos and videos will be chosen to feature on the Marriott Hotels’ website, www.travelbrilliantly.com/gopro.
Even if your photo does not appear on the Marriott website, it could still be shared on the Marriott International’s social media accounts, as well as the in-room entertainment system at selected locations. To celebrate the new program, users who upload content will have the chance to win prizes, including hotel stays, Marriott Rewards points and a GoPro camera of their own.
