On July 23, 2014, Portfolio Manager Bill Hench sat down with Gregg Greenberg of The Street to talk about three holdings that he currently likes in Royce Opportunity Fund‘s portfolio— AK Steel Holding Corporation (NYSE:AKS), Meritor Inc (NYSE:MTOR), and J C Penney Company Inc (NYSE:JCP).

“Usually when you look at things like commercial truck makers and vehicle makers, you’re talking about places like China and Brazil driving earnings,” said Bill. “But the nice thing about Meritor and a lot of its competitors is that it’s a very good situation in North America where the sales in North America are clearly going to drive earnings for the next couple of years,” he added.

Bill Hench has 22 years of investment industry experience, 12 of which at Royce. In addition to managing Royce Opportunity Fund (with Buzz Zaino), Bill manages Royce Opportunity Select Fund.
