“The most important thing is your entry point. You only get one chance to buy a stock at the right price, so we’re very particular about what we pay,” said Portfolio Manager Bill Hench in his July 15, 2014 appearance on Fox Business News’ “Countdown to the Closing Bell” with host Liz Claman. “So we’re very disciplined with price, but we’re very diversified, too,” Bill added.

In addition to entry price, Bill looks for small-cap companies with good turnaround stories and management with the ability to execute plans that could lift its struggling business. Bill also discussed five names that he currently likes.

Bill Hench has 22 years of investment industry experience, 12 of which at Royce. He manages Royce Opportunity Fund, with Buzz Zaino, and Royce Opportunity Select Fund.
