We have seen dozens of mockups of the iPhone 6. Concept designers come up with mockups and concepts based on rumors, speculations and supply chain leaks. Japanese newspaper Nikkei said in a report today that the mockups provide a good estimate of what the final design of the iPhone 6 would look like. But they have omitted some key details, claims Nikkei.

What most mockups have missed out on the iPhone 6

The Japanese newspaper cites several discrepancies in mockups. Many of them such as the button misalignment are obvious. But Nikkei points out the antenna design specifically. The newspaper says that the iPhone 6 is unlikely to feature the “stripes.” They just mark out the area where aluminum frame will be replaced by glass materials. And even it the stripes are present, they will be made up of highly-polished, attractive glass.

Moreover, the report claims that the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) logo in the iPhone 6 will be created differently than the iPhone 5S. Most of the mockups have missed on this detail. In the iPhone 6, the tech giant will physically cut out the Apple shape in the metal, compared to polishing and engraving the aluminum to make the Apple logo stick out in the 5S.

iPhone 6 to have only one brightness enhancement film

In another report, the China Times claimed that the iPhone 6 will be thinner than all its predecessors. Apple will achieve this by replacing the two brightness enhancement films in the smartphone’s display with just one. Though it would give the next-gen iPhone 6 a thinner design, the move to single brightness enhancement film may cause supply issues as suppliers work to get the new display technology ready.

Moreover, the China Times emphasizes the same thing that we have already heard from numerous sources. It says that Apple partners will start manufacturing of the iPhone 6 in July, and the device is expected to hit the shelves in September. The Cupertino-based company is expected to launch the iPhone 6 is in two variants, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch.

Apple shares soared 1.18% to $93.06 at 1:16 PM EDT on Monday.
