Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) optimization services will enhance the network, voice and data quality in Klang Valley and Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian mobile network operator Celcom Axiata, according to a press release from Nokia. Financial and other timeline details of the deal were not divulged.

Nokia to use latest technologies

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) will process real-time network information along with the using the latest geo-location techniques to enhance Celcom’s 2G and 3G network. Celcom stated that by analyzing the device usage and behavior along with the traffic pattern, its optimization service will recognize the points, where the extra capacity or coverage is needed.

John Lancaster-Lennox, head of Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s Asia South Networks, said that the deal is another important landmark in the long-standing partnership of two companies. The executive further commented that the company will use its expertise to provide “market-leading solutions to ensure that Celcom has the highest quality network in Malaysia and retains its position as the operator-of-choice in the country.”

Improved service

Celcom’s CEO Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly stated that this deal is a part of the company’s network optimization program to offer a top quality mobile network to Celcom’s customers in Malaysia. Ramly added, “After implementing it across Sabah, Sarawak and the East Coast, we are expanding this program to the Klang Valley.“

Ramly also said that the organization will shell out MYR1 billion ($310 million) to enhance the network quality and capacity this year to provide better data services and complete the aim of setting a network of 2,014 active 4G LTE sites nationwide by the end of the year.

The CEO also highlighted that Nokia is the company’s key supplier and partner, and the company has an expert knowledge of their network and infrastructure along with the capability and expertise to achieve advanced levels.
