More apps in Nokia X
Nokia X will not only support apps from Google Play store, but also from Windows marketplace. Many of the apps comes preloaded with the device including Skype, Viber, Vine, Opera Mini, Facebook, BBM, Twitter, WeChat, and numerous games from EA and Gameloft. According to the company, more than three quarters of all Android apps will work perfectly on Nokia X, and for the remaining apps, only parts specifically requiring Google API tie-ins will be affected.
For Nokia X, the company has improved the feature called Fast Lane, which was first seen on Asha devices. The improved feature will allow users to enjoy their favorite content and notifications at one place.
Android, Windows or both
There is a common belief that Nokia X is an Android phone from the company, which has a kernel of truth but doesn’t tell the full story. Nokia X uses AOSP, which is an Open Source Android Project. This implies that the device is a modified version of the Android platform that also supports Microsoft Windows features.
Despite being an Android based device, the feel of Nokia X is certainly Windows based. The tiles are similar to the ones in Lumia devices, and can be re-arranged. On Monday, the Finnish firm launched Nokia X in India at an alluring price tag of Rs. 8599 (approx $150). The other two models of X series; X+ and XL would be available in the Indian markets within the next two months.
