With Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5S, comes the exciting feature of Touch ID. Basically, the Touch ID is a fingerprint sensor that unlocks the device by recognizing the fingerprint of the user. This technology introduces a whole new level of security for users like you and me, and apart from that, it also introduces some extremely useful tweaks for jailbroken devices. Now that iOS 7 is jailbroken, we can expect many more tweaks related to Touch ID. For example; a new jailbreak tweak allows the user to play a chosen tone when the device is unlocked through the Touch ID.
iPhone 5 Activator package has many features
This is possible by using the popular Activator package, which also includes many other settings and tweaks. The latest update to Activator added support for the Touch ID gestures, thereby opening new possibilities for users. So without any further ado, let’s learn how to play a sound when unlocking the iPhone through its fingerprint sensor.
Note that this tutorial will only work on the iPhone 5S. Also you must be using the latest version of Activator for this to work.
Step 1: Navigate to Settings and select Activator from the list.
Step 2: Locate and tap on “At Lock Screen” section that’s related to actions on the device’s lock screen.
Step 3: Go to Fingerprint Sensor > Single Press.
Step 4: Scroll down to Ringtones and then select your choice of ringtone.
That’s all you need to do. Now lock your device and then unlock it using the Touch ID. You’ll now be able to hear the tone that you selected.
It may not be a very innovative tweak, but then it proves that jailbreak developers are taking interest in tweaks related to the Touch ID. As time passes, we’ll likely see Touch ID being utilized in many more ways.
