Galaxy S5 And Note 4 Will Feature 16MP Camera [REPORT]

It appears they will use the new ISOCELL technology on the camera sensors on the Galaxy S5. This new technology makes for better pictures in low-light situations and produces images with more sharpness. This is great news for tech fans who want a more impressive camera on their devices. There is still no official word on whether or not the device will feature optical image stabilization (OIS).

OIS is already featured on other smartphones from Nokia, LG, and HTC.

SamMobile elaborared on the matter, “Advancing from FSI to BSI and now ISOCELL, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) says the new technology decreases crosstalk by 30 percent and reproduces the image with better color reproduction, sharpness and richness compared to the BSI technology. The ISOCELL also features 20 percent wider chief ray angle (CRA) that reduces the height of the camera module.”

Smartphone cameras key issue for consumers

For many smartphones, cameras are one of the key features. The best-selling phones usually have high-quality cameras. The phones already come with great cameras but a Galaxy S5 featuring a 16MP camera with ISOCELL technology would give the company a much-needed boost.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) also suggested during the Analyst Day event is a future Galaxy S phone might feature a foldable screen display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution. Although they didn’t offer the details on the technology, the company did say foldable screens are possible once the technology barriers are solved. Such a phone isn’t likely to reach the public until after 2014.

Samsung future with Galaxy S5

In 2015, the South Korean tech giant could also launch Ultra High Definition 4K smartphones.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) is banking on the future of the Galaxy S5. If such technologies come to existence, the future could be in their hands.
