BOCA RATON, Fla. — The 2012 GAIM conference for hedge fund professionals is drawing managers, investors and service providers from across the country this week to the opulent Boca Raton Resort and Club, a rambling pink structure replete with fanciful trimmings.

Panels are addressing a wide array of issues. Among the most enticing early Monday was the Top Manager Panel.

Sounds interesting. Well, hedge fund fans, better luck next year. The event was closed to the media at the last minute, meaning the insights shared by Bruce Richards of Marathon Asset Management, Glenn August of Oak Hill Advisors and Seth Birnbaum of Bridgewater Associates are for paying attendees only.
