As they say, no operating system is perfect, and the same goes for iOS. No doubt the OS has evolved, and Apple has fixed many bugs but there are some features that people have been requesting for quite some time. For example, users were requesting a way to block people from contacting them on iMessage and FaceTime.

All a person would require to contact you on iMessage or FaceTime is the phone number or email address. Once they’ve obtained that, anyone can start disturbing you.

iOS 7 comes with the ability to block phone numbers

That’s why iOS 6 came with an option to silence messages, but Apple’s latest mobile operating system, the iOS 7, comes with the ability to block phone numbers and e-mail addresses from contacting them on FaceTime, Phone and Messages.

You can add an address to the block list via different ways. The first way to do this is through the call log app on your phone. Tap on the “i” next to a phone number and then tap on “Block This Caller” from the bottom of the screen.

The second way to do this is by viewing call history or contact info from the Messages and FaceTime apps.

Yet another way to block someone is by launching the Settings app and then selecting the Phone, Messages or FaceTime option from the list. You can then find options to add a contact to the block list.

iOS 7 gives a handy way for users to block unwanted contacts

If you’re wondering what will happen if that blocked contact tries to contact you: you won’t even see a missed call or message alert from that contact. Your phone will simply ignore that person, and won’t show you any notifications. With this feature, iOS 7 gives a handy way for users to block unwanted contacts.
