The Korean electronics giant teased with the punchline “Note the Date” in a press invitation, providing a clue in what we should expect at the upcoming IFA trade show, reports Nathan Ingraham of The Verge.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) launched a number of products at its Premier 2013 event in May. But the company has saved the Galaxy Note 3 for the IFA event. The previous two generations of Galaxy Note phablets have been unveiled at the IFA trade show in Berlin. The event has been titled as “Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2.” That’s because Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) Galaxy S4 launch event earlier this year was Episode 1.
Samsung tweets to “Note the Date”
The Korean electronics giant also promoted the event on Twitter by asking its followers to “Note the Date” for the event. The original Galaxy Note was hailed to be the first phablet. The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a trademark S Pen stylus with a 5.7-inch 1080p screen.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) said that it will livestream the IFA event for those who missed it in Berlin and hold a separate event at Times Square. Ina Fried of AllThingsD believes that along with Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) could also unveil an Android smartwatch, rumored to be named Samsung Gear. Though Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is reported to be working on a wrist-worn wearable device for years, it is yet to launch the device.
A separate event for other devices
Moreover, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) will also hold another event on the morning of September 5th, believed to be dedicated to the launch of new laptops and Windows 8 smartphones.
