Pre-orders for Apple’s iPhone X start on Friday, so here’s how to pre-order iPhone X and where you can do it.

This was a huge year for Apple. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus came out in September, but the company didn’t stop there and planned for the iPhone X to come out a bit later. The iPhone X sports various innovative features, such as a near-bezel-less screen with nothing but a camera notch at the top. The new Face ID technology is implemented in the front camera in order to replace Touch ID and unlock the user’s phone. Other features include wireless charging and the TrueDepth camera, which is already on the iPhone 8 Plus. Apple has undoubtedly surpassed everyone’s expectations.

How to pre-order iPhone X and where

Apple

There are a couple of ways to pre-order your iPhone X quickly and smoothly. For the vast majority of people, pre-ordering the iPhone X on Apple’s online store looks like a reasonable choice. However, there is a way to get your iPhone X via the Apple Store app if you already own an iOS device. The Apple Store app is a handy application for browsing Apple products to pre-order or purchase. The app has proven to be reliable and even more efficient than some other methods of pre-ordering/ purchasing Apple products.

It is typical for the online Apple Store and Apple Store app to go down before pre-orders start. The iPhone X will be available for pre-order at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time, and as soon as the store goes back up, you will be able to select the color you want, the amount of storage, and your mobile carrier. After that, all you need to do is hope that you submitted your pre-order in time and that it will get shipped to you promptly. The smartphone will start shipping on the day of its official launch, November 3.

Pre-ordering the iPhone X via the online Apple Store or app has an additional perk. It allows you to select your favorite iPhone model before pre-orders even open. Go to the iPhone X page in the Apple Store app, choose your carrier, color, and storage, and then select your payment option (monthly payments or full price paid up front).

The system will then let you choose whether you want AppleCare+ or not. After that, all you have to do is “favorite” the iPhone X by pressing the heart icon next to the availability button. On Friday when iPhone X pre-orders start, you will be able to quickly find the iPhone X by clicking on Favorites. If you use the Apple Store app, tap Account and then tap My Favorites.

If you aren’t interested in purchasing the iPhone X via Apple, fortunately, four major U.S. carriers offer payment plans which will help you get the iPhone X with a discount. This method is more budget-friendly.

If you are opting to pre-order the iPhone X via the iPhone Upgrade program, the 64GB model will cost you $49.91 per month, while the 256GB costs you $56.16 per month. The iPhone Upgrade Plan includes AppleCare+, which costs an additional $199 if you opt to pay for your iPhone X without the iPhone Upgrade Plan.

How to pre-order iPhone X via AT&T

You can pre-order the iPhone X on AT&T’s website for $0 down if you sign a payment agreement starting at $33.34 per month over 30 months. There is also a 24-month option available. The 24-month option is also known as AT&T Next Every Year, and it starts at $41.63 per month. You can upgrade after a year of use or after you’ve paid half of the price of your iPhone.

Verizon

Those who are already Verizon customers don’t have to worry about figuring out how to pre-order iPhone X. You can trade in an old iPhone that’s still in good shape if it’s not older than the iPhone 5, which will save up to $300 off of your iPhone X. The 24-month payment plan starts at $41.66 per month.

Sprint

Many would say Sprint offers the best installment plans for the iPhone X. Whether you’re already a Sprint customer or not, you can get the iPhone X starting at $22.22 per month. All you have to do is bring in an old device that qualifies for the promotion (older iPhones, Samsung, Google Pixel phones, LG) and trade in on the Sprint Flex plan.

T-Mobile

If you have an iPhone 6 or newer to trade in, T-Mobile offers up to a $300 discount on the iPhone X if you apply for one of its two 24-month installment plans: the Equipment Installment Plan or Jump! On Demand.

The Equipment Installment Plan requires a down payment, and then you continue to make monthly payments for 24 months. The Jump! On Demand is a leasing option which allows you to upgrade to a new smartphone every year. If you are already a T-Mobile customer on the Equipment Installment Plan, you will have to pay the remaining costs for the smartphone you already have to qualify for the iPhone X.

How to pre-order iPhone X: additional tips and tricks

Set an alarm or take a nap

Keep in mind that the websites that offer iPhone X pre-orders will be overcrowded when they start. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the sites crash or it takes it a while to load the pages for you. Set an alarm so you’re awake when the pre-orders start or take a nap in the afternoon before so you will be rested at 12:01 a.m. / 3:01 a.m. Eastern.

Use Apple Store App

As mentioned before, the app seems more stable and intuitive than the Apple Store Online. If you already own an iPhone or iPad, download the Apple Store App, and you will have much easier time getting through the pre-orders.

Use multiple browser tabs

If the Apple Store app isn’t your cup of tea or you don’t own an iPhone yet, keep multiple tabs open on your browser in case the site crashes or takes a while to load.
