Recently-leaked images show a copper Nokia 8 and reveal a few more key details about the upcoming phone. The initially-leaked photographs missed the Carl Zeiss branding. However, the updated images do show the smartphone with a Zeiss imprint, notes The Verge.

What the leaked images of the copper Nokia 8 tell us

First leaked on the Chinese social site Baidu, the Nokia 8 photos show a handset in copper/ gold coloring. So far, leaks have shown blue and steel color variants of the smartphone.

“It’s kind of ugly, but that could just be the light, which is less than pristine, and was more than likely shot on the sly,” The Verge says talking of the copper Nokia 8.

The copper color is already available for the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 smartphones, so there are good chances of a copper Nokia 8 as well.

In the leaked images, one can also see the Android home screen, but there is nothing new because HMD, the official manufacturer of Nokia phones, announced earlier that the phone will have the vanilla version of Android, which will be include all security updates. Further, the leaked images reinstate the previous images when it comes to features such as the 3.5mm audio jack or micro USB port.

Further, the Baidu leak shows the power button beside the volume button. There is also a home button which may also be used as the fingerprint sensor and two capacitive touch buttons on both sides of the home button, notes BGR. The handset has thin bezels on the front panel, and the wallpaper is visible on the lockscreen too.

What to expect from the Nokia 8

HMD’s official Chinese site accidentally leaked a picture of the Nokia 8 last week, and Baidu was quick to catch it. The official video of the smartphone was also leaked just days before the accidental leak by HMD. The leak from the official site confirmed some of the smartphone’s specifications and features.

The Nokia 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 system-on-a-chip and come with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that can further be beefed up with a microSD card. The handset will reportedly sport a 5.7-inch 2K display and could support Quick Charge 3.0 fast-charging technology too. Connectivity options for the handset will include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone’s battery capacity is not known.

To offer the best camera experience to users, Nokia renewed its partnership with Carl Zeiss earlier this month. Even though the Nokia 8 will come with Carl Zeiss optics, the camera will not be same as the previous Nokia PureView. One reason could be that the talent which was behind the Nokia Lumia PureView might have left the company after it was acquired by Microsoft.

The Nokia 8 was earlier rumored to launch on July 31, and now, it appears it could very well launch on that day only. The handset is expected to priced at EUR 589, and will possibly be available in four color options – Blue, Steel, Gold/Blue, and Gold/Copper.
