The burgeoning tech scenes in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, as well as Canada’s relative proximity to US venture capital hubs, has led to high levels of foreign investment in the country. So far this year, 52% of VC deals in Canada have included participation from foreign investors, according to our Canada PE & VC breakdown.
Asset Management Fees Are Showing Signs Of Strain And Could Fall 30%
Since the beginning of 2012, 504 US investors have participated in at least one VC deal involving a Canadian company for a total of more than $5 billion in capital invested, per the PitchBook Platform. Those deals include funding for companies including social media management platform Hootsuite, online shopping startup Frank And Oak and video marketing company Vidyard.
