Excelligence Learning, a provider of elementary school supplies and teacher training services, has acquired Frog Street Press, another supplier of education tools and services. Brentwood Associates has owned a majority stake in Excelligence since 2014.

Private equity investors have completed 736 add-on deals worldwide thus far in 2017, according to the PitchBook Platform, with 37.9% of those transactions coming in the B2B sector, ahead of IT (20.8%), B2C (15.6%) and healthcare (13.7%)—roughly mirroring the figures across PE deals of all types. The US has been home to about 60% of all add-on activity, nearly twice as much as Europe (32%), with the highest share of US deals occurring in the Mid-Atlantic region.
