The iPhone 7 has finally been unveiled by Apple, and there is no doubt that it will once again be a hugely successful smartphone release. Apple fans are currently eagerly awaiting the day when they can get their hands on this new handset, but where are the best deals for the new iPhone 7?

Two-year contracts

One of the issues relating to the smartphone market in general, and the new iPhone in particular, is that the number of two-year contracts available has diminished in recent years. Many carriers have removed this option lately, as the smartphone marketplace simply moves faster nowadays than was the case previously.

But there are still two-year deals available if iPhone users trade in their older iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s or 6s Plus. Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint all offer substantial trade-in credit for an upgrade to the 32GB iPhone 7. Taxes and upgrade fees can be charged in some cases, so even though these are advertised as being free, up to $100 can ultimately be required to secure these deals. It is essential to view the small print before entering into such contracts.

Verizon offer the 32GB iPhone 7 at $769.99, with a trade in credit of $649.99. This effectively means that monthly payments will still need to be made on the $120 difference between the two, while it is also essential to keep lines live for two years in order to receive full credit.

Elsewhere, Sprint is also encouraging iPhone 7 users to lock themselves into a two-year deal. Sprint offers a $0 per month instalment agreement, but only for the 32GB iPhone 7. This means that as the 7 Plus is more expensive, one will need to shell out $5.61 per month for the lifecycle of the two-year lease. Early termination means you’ll pay the full price at that time, or surrender your iPhone 7.

Android and older iPhones

Of course, not everyone already owns an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s or 6s Plus to trade in. But many carriers will also allow later models of the iPhone, or even in some cases an Android handset, to be similarly traded in for credit. T-Mobile allows you to trade in an iPhone 5, 5s, 5c or SE and still receive a rather competitive $399.99 credit. Verizon will provide a $300 credit for Android or iPhone 4 trade-ins. Eligible Android variants includes well-known phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 5, LG G4 or V10, HTC One M8, and even the Droid Maxx and Turbo are approved.

Apple financing

It is also worth considering that Apple is now strongly pushing its own financing options for the iPhone 7, although the consumer electronics giant will also check your credit rating before approval. Any iPhone 7 user, though, who does possess a decent credit record should seriously consider buying straight from Apple in this way, as it could turn out to be particularly financially viable.

All major carriers

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are being sold by all five major carriers in the United States, yet Apple’s pre-sale website now confirms there are two different models of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus actually on offer. There are technical reasons for this related to the carriers themselves, but essentially the model sold by AT&T and T-Mobile does not support Verizon or Sprint’s CDMA networks. Thus, only the Verizon and Sprint models will support all four networks.

However, this technicality only applies to consumers in the United States, Japan and China. European users of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will find that all smartphones will work adequately on the same international frequency bands and networks.

UK deals

One of the most fertile marketplaces for Apple, and indeed all smartphone manufacturers, has been the United Kingdom, and there are a wide variety of deals available for British consumers. It is well-known that UK consumers tend to pay more for electronic goods than their counterparts in the United States, so seeking out the best possible bang for one’s buck becomes even more important in this locality.

The iPhone 7 has launched at £599 in the UK, while the iPhone 7 Plus starts at £719 for the smallest model. The 128GB model follows at £819, and then the 256GB variant costs a pretty eye-watering £919. At those sorts of prices, it absolutely makes sense to shop around for the best deal possible. Many consumers seek voucher codes from cashback sites, and these can cut the cost of the iPhone 7 by as much as £115.

Cashback deals

Five carriers are offering significant cashback deals in order to attract UK iPhone 7 consumers. Vodafone are offering p to £115.50 cashback, with offer available on 32GB iPhone 7 contracts £44 and above. 3Mobile will give new iPhone buyers up to £123.90 cashback, with this available on iPhone 7 contracts only. BT Mobile will pay out up to £120 cashback, with this available on iPhone 7 contracts worth £40 and above. EE provide up to £97.65 cashback, available on iPhone 7 contracts of £46 and above. And, finally, the Carphone Warehouse will provide up to £68.25 cashback, and this is particularly attractive, as it is available on all iPhone 7 contracts.
