The iPhone 7 rumors are picking up pace, even though its launch is still a few months away. There have been leaks and rumors indicating that it will not be a major redesign over the iPhone 6S. Now Pocket Lint has obtained images of the iPhone 7 cases and screen protector made by accessories manufacturer Cygnett. The images were captured at the Computers Unlimited Exposed event in London.

iPhone 6S fits into iPhone 7 cases

Pocket Lint learned at the event that the accessories were for the upcoming iPhone 7, rather than the iPhone 6S. However, the cases were presented with an iPhone 6S inside (don’t miss the antenna lines). It indicates that the two devices will be similar in size, in line with the previous leaks. The screen protector spotted at the event shows two sensor holes above the front microphone instead of one.

The upcoming iPhone is rumored to get rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack, rear antenna bands, and the protruding camera. Apple will reportedly rely on the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus to introduce novel features such as the dual-camera system. The 2017 iPhone is said to be a major upgrade to mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone. Likely to be called iPhone 7S or iPhone 8, it will have bezel-less OLED display, glass design and wireless charging.

Apple places huge orders for the iPhone 7

Even without major upgrade, the iPhone 7 is expected to sell in large numbers. According to Taiwanese publication Economic Daily, Apple has asked its suppliers Foxconn and Pegatron to manufacture between 72 million and 78 million iPhone 7 units by the end of this year. Both contract manufacturers are on a hiring spree ahead of the phone’s launch in September.

Analysts were expecting Apple to place orders for only about 65 million units. The Cupertino company has signed a $2.59 billion deal with Samsung to produce 100 million OLED displays for the next year’s iPhones. There are also rumors that Apple will bring a third iPhone with 5.8-inch display in 2017.
