Did you see people complaining over the weekend on Facebook about how they woke up to find Windows 10 had been installed on their computer? If you know someone who this has happened to, there is good news, there is a way to get Windows to revert back to Windows 7 or 8.1 and I’m going to tell you how to do it.
It looks as though Microsoft pushed the boat out over the weekend in a bid to mop up all the stragglers who’ve not conformed yet (Those who are still running Windows 7 and 8.1). So if like me you don’t like to be pushed or you know someone who has been read this or tell them too.
Can you Go Back to Windows 7?
Yes, you can go back to Windows 7, as long as it has not been 30 days or more since you were forced into this Windows 10 nightmare. If that is the case then, there is a relatively good chance that you will be able to roll back your Windows installation to 7 or 8.1. So here’s how to do it.
Roll back from Windows 10 to Windows 7 or 8.1
Now if you’re very lucky, and you have an understanding of Windows rolling back to Windows 7 or 8.1 will be very easy for you to do. Follow this to do it Start> Settings> Update&security> Recovery. Next on the right you will see”Go back to Windows 7” or “Go back to Windows 8.1”
It’s at this point that you have a few choices to make about your files and the fact that a roll back can take some time (as in a few hours). One thing to remember is, if you’ve created any new files since Windows 10 installed these will be lost if you do not back them up.
