98% of Goldman Emails Referred To The Movie [Report]

FOX Business Network (FBN) Senior Correspondent Charlie Gasparino reports that in Goldman Sachs’ (NYSE:GS) investigation of allegations by former company Vice President Greg Smith that employees referred to clients as “muppets” had revealed “98% of the email muppet use referred to the movie.” Sources tell Gasparino that much of the “malicious muppet use in emails involves name calling among colleagues” and “the firm find no evidence so far to substantiate Smith’s claims that people were talking about clients.”

Excerpts from the report are below.

On the investigation into former Vice President Greg Smith’s claims that clients at Goldman Sachs are called “muppets”:

“Goldman is investigating whether there was malicious muppet talk in emails. People close to Goldman tell FOX Business 98% of the email muppet use referred to the movie. Sources at Goldman also say the malicious muppet use in emails involves name calling among colleagues; apparently at Goldman they call each other muppet. Sources say the firm find no evidence so far to substantiate Smith’s claims that people were talking about clients.”
