The iPhone 6 is one subject we just can’t get enough of, and finally we’ve heard some rumors from a somewhat credible source. The Japanese site Macotakara, which has been right about Apple predictions in the past, has published some details provided to it by more than one source.
iPhone 6 Or iPhone 5S?
Macotakara refers to this year’s flagship version of the iPhone as the iPhone 5S. It makes no mention of the iPhone 6, but there’s been some debate this year about whether Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will continue to follow its usual naming pattern this year.
The site does say though that the next iPhone (whether it’s the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 5S) is expected to come in both a high-end model and a low-end model.
A Colorful iPhone Ahead?
According to the site, the low-cost iPhone will likely be available in colors other than black and white. Some have said that the colors will be similar to those of the fifth generation of the iPod Touch. Macotakara lists some of the possible colors as navy, gold, orange, white, grey, green, pink and blue. The site said it hear two different lists of colors from two different sources.
The low-end iPhone is also expected to have a back made of polycarbonate to help keep costs down and a price tag of between $350 and $400. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reportedly has 1,000 units on order for a June field test and then a September shipping date.
Features Of The High-End iPhone
As for the high-end iPhone, Macotakara’s sources said it will feature a dual LED flash and a rear microphone hole that’s circular rather than the oval shaped one. It’s also expected to be positioned between the flash and the iSight camera.
You’ll note that the information provided by the site’s sources says nothing about iPhone 6 rumors, which may be entirely false or may be talking about the handset that will be out next year, which would make sense if Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) continues on the same numbering pattern. Those rumors indicate a Retina display, a 12 or 13 megapixel camera and an A7 quad core processor. One area of interest is that Macotakara mentions the iSight camera, as the previous iPhone 6 rumors do.
Rumors About The iPad 5
And finally, the site goes a little into what the next version of the iPad will look like. It says the fifth generation iPad will have a back microphone hole, which was removed from the iPad Mini although it was on the prototype. There’s no expected release date given for the next iPad.
