Carly Fiorina Has Been Expecting A Correction For Some Time Now

Updated on

GOP Presidential Candidate Carly Fiorina spoke with FOX Business Network’s (FBN) Trish Regan about the market correction. Fiorina said, “I’ve been expecting a correction for some time now because the underline fundamentals of the U.S. economy are not that strong.” Fiorina went on to say, “there’s no doubt that China has some real issues in front of it” and “I think now is the time for us to put pressure on China.”

Carly Fiorina on the market correction:

“I’ve been expecting a correction for some time now because the underline fundamentals of the U.S. economy are not that strong. Two percent growth is pretty lackluster, of course now we have the Fed Reserve backing off on zero interest rates and China’s economy is slowing. There’s no doubt that China has some real issues in front of it and the devaluation of the Yuan as well as the huge sell off in their markets spell trouble ahead.”

Carly Fiorina on China:

“What’s interesting is they have tried over the last several years to engineer a soft landing for their economy and it appears they have not succeeded in doing so. It’s also true that the Chinese government cut this deal with the Chinese people which is we’re going to keep this economy growing fast enough to lift millions out of poverty and in return you’re going to accept censorship, repression and terrible safety standards and pollution. Frankly, I think now is the time for us to put pressure on China.”
