iPhone 6 Price Starts $199 for the 16GB Model

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) officially unveiled its highly-anticipated next generation iPhones with larger screens today.

As expected, the Cupertino-based tech giant introduced the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus. Both devices come in gold, silver and space grey colors.

According to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), the price of the iPhone 6 equipped with 4.7-inch display will start at $199 for the 16GB model with a contract. The 64GB model cost $299 and the 128GB cost $399 with contract.

On the other hand, the price of iPhone 6 Plus with 5.5-inch display will start at $299 for the 16GB model with a contract. The 64GB model and 128GB versions cost $399 and $499 with contract, respectively.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will start taking pre-orders for the devices on September 12 and will begin shipping to customers on September 19.

iPhone 6 specs and features

The Cupertino-based tech giant said the iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch display is integrated with a Retina HD resolution with 1334 x 750 pixels, which offers 326 pixels per inch and a wider angle view.

According to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), the glass on the new display is “ion strengthened” and it only measures 6.9mm thick. The device is thinner compared with its predecessors.

On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus is also integrated with a Retina HD (1920X1080 pixels that offer 401 pixels per inch), “ion strengthened” and it measures 7.1mm thick. The device is thinner compared with iPhone 5S, which measures 7.6mm.

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) equipped that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with an A8 processor, which is 25% faster than the A7 processor in terms of CPU performance. Its graphic performance is 50% faster.

The company said the new processor allows the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus to operate at full power with less heat. Both devices are powered by the iOS 8, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said the battery life of iPhone 6 offers 59 hours audio and 11 hours video while the iPhone 6 Plus offers 80 hours audio and 14 hours video.

Both devices are equipped with 802.11AC, Wi-Fi calling, 150 Mbps (Network and NFC (Near Field Communication), and integrated with isight camera, 8MP True Tone Flash, phase detection auto focus and image stabilization. Its video camera has 1080 p (30fps and 60fps) and slow motion 240fps.
